THE QUOTE OF THE DAY

Ken Berwitz

From Secretary of State Hillary Clinton's testimony to the Senate Confirmation Committee:

"I take responsibility.  And nobody is more committed to getting this right."

Those were exactly the right words....except that, later, she answered a Republican senator this way:

"With all respect, the fact is we have four dead Americans.  Was it because of a protest or was it because of guys out for a walk one night who decided they'd go kill some Americans.  (FLAILING ARMS, BANGING ON THE THE TABLE) What difference at this point does it make? It is our job to figure out what happened and do everything we can to prevent it from ever happening again, senator."

Translation:

-I take responsibiilty and no one is more committed to getting things right than me (pause for applause, genuflection and general fawning by Democrats and mainstream media, if you can tell the difference between them).

-However, since it happened a long time ago (during which I found ways of not testifying, which is why you are first hearing from me now, over four months later), it doesn't matter how it happened anymore, so why are you asking me about it?

-Besides, it is our job to figure out what happened - you know, the thing I just said doesn't make any difference - and to prevent it from ever happening again, which of course requires that we know what happened, but, as I keep pointing out, what's the difference? (pause for more applause, genuflection and general fawning by Democrats and mainstream media...if you can tell the difference between them.)

There you have it.  Classic Clintonese.  The kind of mealy-mouthed BS that would never survive even two seconds of media scrutiny if a Republican said it, but makes Hillary Clinton a rock star to those same media...just like it always has for hubby Bubba.

That said, there is good news:  Hillary Clinton is leaving her post as Secretary of State.

But there is also bad news:  President Obama, the man we re-elected in November, is replacing her with John Kerry.

More on this in the next blog.

Zeke .... So, what are you going to do ? Fire her ? .... .... 1) Why weren't US aerial Gun Ships, fighters 90 minutes away in Sicily not sent immediately ? .. 2) Why weren't infantry assets (Quick Reaction Force, Special Ops) not at least ASSEMBLED and READI ED ? ... 3) WHO was behind the "It was that nasty Video" & Spontaneous Demonstration lie ? .... 4) State spent nearly $100,000 in newspaper ads in North Africa, saying "Please don't be mad us because of the video". ... 4) WHO told the two ex-Seals to "Stand Down". .... 5) If State in DC was monitoring events Real Time --- how did this 'spontaneous demonstration' go on for 7 hrs and NOTHING WAS DONE ? ........ At "Hopelessly Partisan" we discuss all issues, big and small. Such as:

-Could the Obama administration have been more inept, incompetent, misfeasant and dishonest about the attack on our consulate in Benghazi, Libya?

-When will President Obama stop lying about the effect of the sequester - which is doing little other than saving the taxpayers money?

-What century will Egyptian women's rights wind up in after the Muslim Brotherhood is through?

-How many layoffs and reduced hours will companies inflict on workers because they are forced to pay for ObamaCare?

-After Hagel and Brennan, is Obama finished with picking anti-Israel appointments, or will there be more?

- Right down to:

-Who wants Piers Morgan least? The USA or the UK?

-Will Lindsey Lohan dry up, just go away, or both? (I'm rooting for both)

-Does anyone care that Chris Hayes has a show on MSNBC - including his immediate family?

In here, nothing is sacred and nothing is out of bounds.

So settle back, preferably after laughing your way through a copy of "The Hopelessly Partisan Guide To American Politics", and let the battle begin. In this blog, your opinion counts every bit as much as anyone else's, maybe even more.

And to show that my willingness to provide all sides of the issues is sincere, here are links to a variety of web sites, from the left, the middle (more or less) and the right. Read them and either smile in agreement or gnash your teeth in anger!!
